About
Aaron Goen is the Director of Music at St. John's Episcopal Church, Georgetown, Washington, DC and the Director of Choral Music, lower grades at National Cathedral School.
He has served as Director of Music at St. Andrew's, Episcopal Church, Burke, VA and Interim Director of Music for The Charlotte Choir School, Charlotte, NC. He has been an active recitalist both as an organist and as an accompanist, having given recitals at the National Cathedral, National Presbyterian Church, the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Newark, NJ, in Charlotte, NC; Columbia, SC; and San Diego.
He has accompanied choirs at Virginia Theological Seminary, Wells Cathedral, and St. John the Divine, NYC. In 2015 and 2018, Mr. Goen served as course organist for the Royal School of Church Music Summer Course for Advanced Trebles in Washington, DC working with Bruce Neswick and Michael McCarthy.
As a Chancellor Scholar, Aaron graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Music from Vanderbilt University, having studied organ with Wilma Jensen. He then went on to Indiana University as a Merit Scholar to earn a Masters in Music degree, studying with Drs. Christopher Young and Larry Smith.
